Yeah, I don't know why I would think that the guy with the all-caps screen name and a habit of entering into debates with insults would be in it for the attention.

Oh brother. And what was I just saying?

The old "You're on the Internet! HA!" non-argument- from someone ALSO on the Internet- is about as dumb as it gets. Try again.

Nothing about what I said was about being on the internet. It would apply equally to in-person conversation (except the part about the screen name, obviously). It's about demeanor, generally.

Yeah, I don't know why someone with the screen name SpaceMonkey who constantly tries to twist everyone else's words into some 'gotcha' moment would be in it for the attention.

Gee- ANYONE can do that, with ANY criteria they wish to make up. It's just stupid.

If you say so. I'm sorry if your impression is that I'm out to twist people's words. My goal is usually to try to explain myself clearly and comprehensively, which I think has unfortunately developed into a kind of an overly didactic style. I still think that's generally more accepted as part of normal conversation than insults and 'shouting.'

It's mostly the characters around here that keep me interested in this place. A few people's opinions (mostly on the right, but a rare few on the left) I have great respect for so I continue to enjoy reading their points of view on things. I don't mind a little shouting and insults- so what. It's better than the lameless of not having a strong opinion about anything at all. Or good grief, the insufferable LAMENESS of highly partisan people who try and pretend they aren't and are somehow above it all. A whole forum like that would be a total snoozefest. To those that can't take it, develop a thicker skin perhaps.

Where is Janet Reno or Pelosi? I don't see their names on the list.

Maybe we need to change the subject.

This is a prejudiced thread.

Or maybe you need to read the thread so that you will better understand the criteria to know why they aren't on the list?

If you can come up with a quote that approaches the others in craziness, go for it.

Bachmann is not a commentator, she's in Congress, which makes her brand of crazy that much more dangerous.

You're right, how could I forget that? Perhaps I'm blocking her out on every level.

I'm also blocking out the first post, where besson said: "a politician or pundit relevant today."

I'm gonna go watch Harry Potter the Musical. And have a yogurt. Have a nice day. I look forward to our next chat.

Another forum I lurk has a dude that believes some of this reptile stuff. Some legendary thread material there.

But my favorite part of all this is that back when I played GTA IV there were hobos that repeatedly referenced these things, when people died near them ("Did you see? Reptilian death ray! It's gotta be!") or you beat the snot out of them ("I'll get you next time, Reptilian!"). Weird.

Conservatives think Olbermann and Maddow are crazy because they say bad things about FOX, tea partiers, and Republicans.

Liberals think Christine O'Donnell, Bachmann, and Beck are crazy because they believe in crazy conspiracy theories.
Bush Tax Cuts == Job Killer
June 2001: 132,047,000 employed
June 2003: 129,839,000 employed
2.21 million jobs were LOST after 2 years of Bush Tax Cuts.

No, not just a bunch, hundreds if not thousands. In fact where I am (Toulouse) there are left-wingers who are still blocking a certain university. Up to 3 million people who have too many holidays already were in the streets not working saying how tired they were, while I had to lose a day off to look after my kids.

But that's another poll. The list besson presented was fairly exclusive.

Besson threw those names in there to give the impression of fairness while really trying to get at Bachmann, Palin, and Beck. (anything TeaParty really) He took quite a ribbing for his post-count infatuation with Beck and has decided to run a new angle up the flagpole.

In short, Olbermann is not batshxt crazy, but besson felt he needed fillers from the left. After all, a fair account of leftist batshxt crazy would include any number of those currently serving in office such as Nancy Pelosi or Alan Grayson, but they may have gotten more votes than Bachmann, Palin, or Beck.

No, actually, I started it, kinda. I observed that batshit crazy is measured in units of Bachmanns. Her comments and public statements are the very definition of batshit crazy, the standard to measure all other crazies against. besson3c ran with it, started this poll, and put in all the rest of the names as filler.

I give Palin some credit, she was smart enough to realize that she could have a lot more money and influence if she got the hell away from government (and the responsibility and accountability that comes with it.)

I don't think that Olbermann is crazy, but I want him to be cause that would substantiate my theory of crazy involving double Ns in the name.

I've decided not to care who and what people think I'm infatuated with. If I were to have a great epiphany and change my mind on some issue it wouldn't matter anyway because there will always be people that will search through the MacNN history and put past posts in my face. My legacy is kind of cemented in place here. I still get paint references even though that fad of mine was yesteryear's besson3c (I've since matured and am more interested in vomit now).

Like I've said 209348209348 in this thread, come up with quotes for Pelosi or Grayson or whomever else that are crazy and not just disagreeable, and we can add them to my list. I skimmed over several candidates who were disagreeable but not crazy. There were unused poll options when I setup the poll for this reason.

You aren't going to beat Basil Marceaux, you just aren't!

I gotta say guys, it's REALLY ****ing depressing that our partisan crutches helped put Olbermann above:

- Saying that the separation of church and state comes from the Nazis
- Saying that gay marriage is going to be one of our biggest threats
- Equating masturbation to adultery
- Politicians who think it is smart to send pornographic emails of women having sex with horses
- Terror babies

Just to scratch the surface...

Olbermann is a pompous, self-righteuous, self-important warrior of the left. The above is flat out crazy.

I hope that if Basil Marceaux was in my poll that he would be leading? I mean COMON!!! Alvin Greene? The rent is too damn high guy?

Awesome argument. We may not destroy the Earth itself, but the people on it? Yeah, there is no evidence at all that our actions can cause any sort of environmental problem with catastrophic consequences. The air and water is kept clean by God, right?

I especially like the soundbites of "Fox noise" and calling sitting republican congressmen a group of idiots, coupled with his most recent claim that he and rachel maddow are the only objective journalists left in America. If only he were even a journalist, and not just a partisan commentator.

PS* fourth one is my favorite
I've watched these videos. I don't see anything remotely batsh!t crazy about any of them. Calling people names isn't polite, but he isn't claiming Obama's death panels could kill her baby Trig, like Palin did.

I did a search for your claim that Olbermann said "he and rachel maddow are the only objective journalists left in America" but can't find it.

The next governor of Tennessee? All this time I thought you were talking about the mime. Mimes aren't batshit crazy, they're just f*cking weird.

Anyway, you friend Basil Marceaux tops out the Google batshit crazy meter at 206,000!
(for review, this is the number of hits for '<name> batshit crazy' (no quotes) in Google.

For completeness:
Janet Reno: 760 (not very good, Janet!)
Nancy Pelosi: 88,000

I am going to have to research your friend some more! I may need to recalibrate the batshit crazy scale....

Can you quote Pelosi saying something as crazy as the stuff about fining people for not carrying their gun, state immunity and stuff like that?

What sort of crazy quotes do you have to use as basis for this assertion?

Also, if she were male would she be a bitch?

The Vatican doesn't define masturbation as adultery, but as "disordered behaviour." Nice try.

Okay. Let's make it real simple.

Liberal thinking = Retarded thinking.

Now I have to admit, I'm exaggerating a little, because I lean a little bit more moderate, and I do believe in the right to have an abortion (I'm not sure, I believe, only up to approx. 9 weeks). But I have had Liberal friends who believed abortion should be legal up to the day of delivery. It was like flip a coin when the girl was having contractions. That is what I call retarded, and that is the Left wing Liberal view.

Retarded ≠ batshit crazy.

I'll save you all some time. I went looking through Google for some batshit crazy Pelosi quotes. (Interestingly enough, most of the hits for "nancy pelosi batshit crazy" were pages referencing Pelosi that were calling Bachmann crazy...)

Here's the only one I found that is truly nuts and not just something Glenn Beck wouldn't like:

Say Anything Pelosi: We Must Pass The Health Care Bill So That We Can Find Out What’s In It

I suspect that is a minority opinion among Democrats and liberals, but not among libertarians. Regardless, I doubt there are many "day of delivery" abortions anywhere, even in Canada where there is no law against it.
