Does anyone think that the second generation of the iPad will have a plastic body? The iPad is compared to the iPhone at lot and it occured to me this happened between the first generation of the iPhone and the second.

I thought the change to plastic had to do with reception issues.

They seemed to have mastered the antenna in the rubber grommet, so I vote no. They could switch to the ceramic iPhone HD stuff though.

I think you're right, they did switch to plastic on the iPhone because of reception problems. However, I've heard some users on wifi have also been experiencing reception problems. The black plastic strip on the 3G model only covers the 3G antenna, while the wifi antenna is behind the Apple on the back. All plastic would also make it cheaper I'm guessing.

Don't know about productivity of the device itself, but the aluminium looks like the nicest device I've seen from them outside of the Mac line.
MacBook Pro 17" 2.2 GHz quad-core, 2x4GB 1333MHz RAM, 750GB Hard Drive, Intel HD Graphics 3000,
AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5, Mid 2011

MacBook Air 13" 1.7 GHz dual-core Intel i5, 4GB RAM, 128GB Flash Storage, Intel HD Graphics 3000, Mid 2011
iPhone 4 32 GB, Mid 2010

It's gorgeous. I hope they keep it and don't switch to plastic to lower the price. I have a feeling the GooglePad will be a $250 slab of plastic.
