Everyone,
Does anyone know if DVD movies burnt using iDVD can be played using Sony Playstation 2's DVD playback capabilities? Thank for the help.

Not for me. Showed no data and scratched the disc to boot. I've tried on two different occasions. Also, that list hasn't been updated in quite some time, I'd say a year.

I've used movies recorded with iDVD 1 and 2 with my PS2, before and after the DVD software update with no problems.
I got the DVD remote last summer so the DVD player software should be relatively recent. I can check the version and report back if anyone is interested.

What about X-Box compatibility? I couldn't see it on the compatibility list.

I have successfully created home movies in iDVD (X.2) and played them on an Xbox. Everything went smoothly...

There also may be an issue of the DVD-R media you use. I have heard from vendors that some blank media work fine, others don't.

about the upgraded dvd player with the remote on the ps2
just take out your memory card and it should be the old player, the disc just puts a newer player on your memory card
im not to sure if the remote will work or not though
thats what my playstation rep told me, i work at toys r us, so i get all this retarted kind of info, i think its so the reps have a job, or a reason to have a job
oh ya i think the dvd version should be upto 1.2, and i think all the ps2's that shipped in the last year are all the new player built in, and the original ps2's were older versions of the player

Using Apple's DVD-R, and Sony's DVD-RW, I could get NEITHER to work on my PS2, but they both worked flawlessly on my XBox.

The PS2 scratched your disc? There may be something wrong with your drive.
