Today I made the trip from Harvard Square to the Cambridgeside galleria. At 8.15 pm there was a lot activity around the store, construction workers going in and out of the store. I could catch a glimpse when they opened the door a little bit, all the lights were shining inside, all the walls were already painted white. Could not see how much furniture is around. However i got the impression that construction is in its final stages and that we might see an opening of before Christmas, if not even by next week.

keeping fingers crossed.

And I'll see you there! And it's about time. It is actually easier for me to get into Cambridge that to get up to the friggin' North Shore

I'm going to pull your head off because I don't like your head.

I want the Cambridge Apple store to open mostly so people will stop complaining about the fact that the Cambridge Apple store hasn't opened yet.

Haha, well Peabody is only 15 minutes away for me! Cambridge is like 45 minutes + traffic. No complaints from me.

I am between Exeter and Fairfield on Comm. Ave., so Cambridge is nice and close so I won't have far to travel to spend all my dough.

Cambridgeside Galleria though... I used to work over near there. (the 'EF' building a few blocks away, across from the museum. They gave everyone an Aeron chair and had a lot of Macs in their print design department. Nice place, crappy cafeteria.)

But Harvard Square, the Prudential/Copely mall, or the Chestnut Hill Mall all seem like better locations for Apple to me. (although the latter's not near the T, it is near people who spend lots of money As for Peabody, I'll be damned if I can figure that one out.

Ah well, I'm in the Philly area as of late, and not only do we still not have anything, it'll be in King of Prussia, and I'm all the way across town in Camden.

Hell, I only WORK in Lexington and Cambridge. I live west of Worcester and it is STILL easier for me to get to Cambridge than Peabody. I STILL have not been to that damned store.

As noted in today's As the Apple Turns:

http://www.apple.com/retail/cambridgeside/

Why not dial the number and ask when they'll be open?

There are places to live, west of Worcester? Huh... I was in Boston five years, and I don't think anyone ever mentioned that at all. I can't imagine there'd be much point in it though.

The Cambridge store is now listed as "Coming Soon":

http://www.apple.com/retail

I take it this means it opens next Saturday (Dec. 15)?

Yes, I think Peabody was a bad mood. I think Chestnut Hill seems perfect. I live closer to the Natick mall - that is very new and nice. Apple should put a store next to the Gateway store to drive them RIGHT OUT OF BUISNESS ! When ever I pass the store I yell in "XP sucks!" or "boycott!", it makes me feel good .

See you all when it opens!

I just got off the phone with the CambridgeSide galleria and they said its probably opening on the 15th. The mall hours are 9am-11pm, but I have no idea when you can actually get in the mall to get in line, or when the store is actually opening...

The Apple Store number listed for CambridgeSide on their website is just ringing with no answer.. on Monday it gave the hours for the store in Texas

Also Macintouch has some infoHere.

I'd like to try to be one of the first in line. What time to people suggest that I try to get there?

BTW, if anyone suggests anything before 6:00 I'll know either a) you're messing with me, or b) there's no way in hell that I'll be one of the first in line.

Dammit, are you serious?

Oh well, better get down with the old Apple pride and truck myself down there when I need to. You gotta do what you gotta do.

I'll be able to sleep in January
