Today, out of curiosity I scoured the web for an aluminum mouse to fit with my Powerbook, and the only one available is ugly and meant for PC only (PS/2 jack). I am amazed. This would be a total marketing opportunity for someone with some cash to invest in an aluminum shell for an optical mouse, preferably with bluetooth. Why hasn't it been done?

Not quite aluminum, but it has a similar finish to it. I've been using it with my TiBook for a few months now, I absolutely love it. It's small and portable, while remaining comfortable in my hand.

You'd be better off waiting for the new 'brushed metal' mice and keyboards from apple.
