XP on MBP: nary a whine

Ironic that Apple's hardware is completely silent under Windows XP -- absolutely no errant processor whine. Can't verify the display buzz as I don't have it at all. Save the OS, it's a dream. I guess I didn't realize how annoying the processor whine was until it was gone.

Just in case anyone wants to know the display buzz still exists when booted in XP. I really need to call Apple and have that fixed...

A guy I work with has noticed the same thing. His macbook has a pretty loud whine normally but in XP there is nothing. Seems promising as far as the likleyhood of this being a software fix.

Confirmed here... spent about 4 hours under XP last night, and no whine. Though, since going back into OSX, no whine either...

That's because XP, right now, doesn't fully support the power management in the MBP. (I am extrapolating this from Apple's Boot Camp FAQ which says to expect less battery life under Windows.)

Does the Boot Camp driver pack include Intel's chipset/CPU drivers? If so it should fully support all the sleep states.
I know C3 and C4 work under Windows, because of the USB-disables-C3 issue with Window's USB asyncronous scheduler.
