Hi,

I just got a MDD dumped on my lap and it needs a video card. It's the FW800 model. Can I put in a Radeon 9800 128 pro video card in it. As I was told you need to tape a few pins on the card. I'm my hearing that right. If that is right does anyone know what pins to tape or is that just a myth.

Thanks

I bought a Radeon 9800Pro 256MB Mac:Edition for my MDD and had to do nothing but install it and plug it into the HD power cable.

If it is a PC 9800, you need to flash it with a Mac ROM (available from strangedogs) and you have to tape pins 3 and 11 (on the back of the card counting from the VGA/DVI connector side).

I have been using the Radeon 9600 Pro (Mac+PC edition) for over a year now. It's doing a pretty good job actually. Right now, I have the Apple 17-inch LCD Studio Display and DELL 2407WFP on it.
