Forgive me if this is old news, but ever since I upgraded to 10.1.5, Cmd-Shift-3 and Cmd-Shift-4 works to grab screens. Pictures are placed on your desktop. Now If I could only remember the other key combos...

I don't know why I tried it, but I did...

Yeah, they've been around since OS 8 or 8.5, eh? I've used that feature for years.

Command + Shift + 4 with caps lock would let you take pictures of individual windows in OS 9 -- why the hell isn't that feature in OS X!? Arg, that was the one I used the most. Now I have to use Snapz to do that, and I don't wanna. Maybe I should head on over to feedback so they can stick that in before Jag hits.

Sorry, Mac newbie here.

So its CMD+Shift+3 to do a screen grab (eg. similar to print screen in Windoze)?

Thanks in advance.

Cmd + Shift + 3: take picture of screen.

Cmd + Shift + 4: take picture of portion of the screen.

(OS 9) Cmd + Shift + 4 (with caps lock): take picture of a particular window.

There you have it. Of course, if you get SnapzPro for OS X, you can do plenty more -- take pictures of windows, portions, menu bars, make movies, and so on.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the handy little control extra <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Command-Control-Shift-3 = Send screen to the clipboard.
Command-Control-Shift-4 = Send selection of the screen to the clipboard.

BTW, MiniFad, it wasn't in 10.0, so that's what this was about
