I got it to work by downloading a .rm or .ram file and doing a show info and setting all of this file type to open with Realplayer.

I wish Real would get off their ass and port RealPlayer or RealOne to OS X.

I don't miss Real Player. It's not used nearly as much as it used to be. Thank God. RP really sucked. It always has.

I'm not a fan of RealPlayer, but I am a fan of The Tick! And the Tick's files are only available in the Real Format and I think they are streamed.

Does anyone know if there is a kludge to run the Unix for PPC version?

I've never been a fan of RealPlayer either, but I do have a load of files in it that I need it for. I just use the OS 9 one in Classic, and it works basically fine.

What I really need is a program for setting lots of file types/creators at once - I have to drag them onto its window right now.

Given that Real is in the process of being nudged off the WinTel platform by Microsoft, you'd think they'd be eager to shore up what market share they have left.

Sadie: Download FileTyper from the link below. It's a Classic app but it works fine on OS X files. It allows you to change the same attribute for multiple files simultaneously. I used it to create a custom drag and drop type changer for some of my own Real files.

FileTyper.

I don't know if you've seen this, but if you want to generally change the application that opens a certain type of file, you can select the app in the Get Info window, and then click "Change all..."
