As a few other people have pointed out, the best thing you can do to be convinced is to buy a PC.

Within three months -more likely within one-, you will understand why Macs are better. Or, perhaps, you won't, in which case you'll never be convinced. Either way, your own experience will be far more persuasive than any arguments I or anyone else could ever make.

I concur with the sentiment that you should try some PCs out. Chances are that if you are in the UK you will be working with PCs at some point so why not get some experience?

I am a Comp-Sci grad and I can't stand Windows, although programming for them is pretty easy (explaining why there are so many poorly written programs.)

Just this week my step-father unistalled IE 6 for windows and it trashed his OS. What kind of crap is that?

It seems to run fin eon my borrowed iBook/500 . Perhaps the amount of RAM is an issue?
