[OmniX]

I'm planning to purchase an external FW 120GB drive from transintl.com and am wondering if anyone has had any experience with this drive or company. Besides the drive itself, I am attracted to the 3 year warranty.

By comparison, a similar 12GB drive from LaCie looks prettier and has an aluminum case (durability is somewhat important to me, I will be traveling), but only a 1 year warranty.

Someone help this guy out!!! The transintl drive 'looks' good, does What type of HD is inside of it? It seems as like the mb/sec (or is that MB?) is the most important stat to look at.

fwiw, I have narrowed my own search for a 60-80 gig HD down to:

Prefabs:
(a) LaCie d2;
(b) Transintl.

Do it yourself:
(a) IBM Deskstar* (I think it'll work w/ my Ti w/ the right enclosure).
