I searched the forums for this answer already.
How do I decompress the .ace compression format?
At this point, I don't even care if it is a unix command line (but I am hoping for a gui version)
Any advice,
DD

At the moment, the WinAce site only has Win and Linux versions of the decompressor available. And the Linux one doesn't have the source code with it, so no easy home-porting there.
You could mail and ask for a Mac OS X version, even a quick port for a command-line uncompressing tool at [email protected] - it's not too farfetched at all.
I'm sure they're interested in keeping it quite proprietary, but who knows, maybe someone else could be able to write a decoder. I've found OpenUp a very capable tool, perhaps you could inquire about adding .ace to it?

There's also this website (mostly in French) where you can download their PCTools (see also VersionTracker comments on the previous version 1.0), supporting .ace decompression (albeit only for the older formats, regrettably). A Classic version also seems to be available here...
