I'm surprised, I bought 2GB on Wednesday night at that price, I was beginning to think something was wrong since know one has mentioned it yet.

This seems like a great price, report back once you get your RAM. I'd love to add a few more GB to my Mac Pro.

How good is the ram? Never heard of the maker. This cheap and having to buy extended warrenty makes me leary. For those that have used this, chime in on the quality.

What's having to buy an extended warranty? The manufacturer's site says it's already got a lifetime warranty

Searching around the forums here, I haven't heard anybody say anything bad about Techworks memory. Newegg has a pretty good return policy which was the reason I took the risk.

Just picked up 4GB for less than half the price of my initial OWC 2GB... Thanks for the lead!

I prefer 2GB DIMMS, I want to max out my RAM (6x2GB+2x1GB well close to maxing it out). I currently have 2x512MB, 2x1GB. Next RAM upgrade (if i do it) 2x2GB DIMMs.

You can send them back, and then re-purchase them. I've done that with a motherboard recently. It dropped $20 a week later.

How much was the RAM a few days ago?

Is a "heat spreader" the same thing as a heat sink? If so, the Newegg listing says it doesn't come with a heat spreader.

Well they are gone now. With some message saying "the item you are looking for has been deactivated".

Was it a wrong price type deal or something?

doh!

I wonder if someone at the egg got the prices confused with the DDR2 667 of the imac? I'll find out Tuesday when I crack the box open. Before I made the first post I checked the part number to that of the manufactures website, and it all matched up. The only difference was Techworks was selling it for $79.

So far all my receipts and invoices say "ECC Fully Buffered Memory for Apple Server & Mac Pro - Retail"

Got mine in today, it's the real deal with full heatsinks and everything. My Mac's at home so I can't tell you if they work or not until later tonight.

Update: Works like a champ, to bad they are not listed anymore, I was going to swap out all my 512's.

OK, so I got mine today from UPS(I ordered 1GB). It does indeed have the heat sink but I can't test in Mac Pro either because I haven't bought the Mac Pro yet. However, I have a problem, the RAM comes as one 1GB module instead of two 512MB modules. I believe you have to install in matching pairs in the Mac Pro, right? So, I guess I have to buy another 1GB module before I can install the RAM.

Yep, you'll need another stick, but I think you're supposed to match the pairs with the same brand/manufacturer, model and size. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

That's cool because I saw the module on the Buffalo site for $80.

I received the 8gb of Techworks I ordered today. Everything works perfectly in my Mac Pro as well. A good price on some good FB-DIMMS.
