That's right, I am FINALLY updating my wood theme. I renamed wood to Applewood, and then made Silverwood. Now I am making amazing versions [since i have now improved a great amount] of each, which will be combined into a guiKit called WOOD2.

I'll post all mockups, screens, and ideas in here shortly
I will start with making Applewood2

How about open/close widgets as philips and flathead screws?

That is a good idea, close be a nail, and min/max be philips and flat screws. I'm excited for this update either way.

If you could get the hues to match the wood grain in garageband, that would be sweet.

Penguinn, that't what I would do... and give them a recessed look with a mouse-over, perhaps? As if they were screwed in?

Why not have a wood texture for the Aqua window backgrounds instead of plain brown?

That's a good idea! (Check out my Titanium theme... you can use the idea though as far as I'm concerned)

You should make the menubar and titlebars look like the buttons. They don't look like wood at all now, but the buttons sure do. The widgets need more loving too, but the background and menu fills look perfect; just like plywood... maybe you should put in a knothole here and there :-]

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

yea I agree.... the menubar looks like a stretched brown aqua button.
I'll make it more woody, don't you worry! I just don't want it to look too much like a brown variation of Max's Brushed.
I'll think of something

That "wood" desktop looks more like "brass" IMHO

Wood is more flat than shiny.

That new one is much better, but can't you just make the bars look like the push buttons? They look GREAT!

Do you remember this submission for the mockup contest?

Wood

Maybe you could team-up with the author and make his/your theme a reality?

His mockup looked very nice IMO

i made wood like 1.5 years ago with themepark beta
it was sort of popular i guess, but it lacked quality, so then when i saw that mockup it upset me

i don't need any help on this project, i'll be fine thanks... i suck with collaborating with others, Its too difficult cuz we each have a different idea on our heads....
and i don't see how that mockup any more realistic than mine

now i'm going to make this theme, and ur gonna like it

You should make your theme so it matches these icons:

These Wood Shapes are nice IMHO.
Resexellence had 4 or 5 rather complete wood sets, but since their server problems they're not there - for now...

Andrew, I just sit back and watch folks telling you to do one thing or another (all with good intentions - I'm not bashing anyone) while you stick to your plan and I marvel at how adept you've become at theming in what seems like a short time span.
As I struggle with the ThemePark half of Vette (designed beautifully by NetworkShadow) I smile and shake my head at the great job you're doing.

Way to go.

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.

wow i submitted a reply to you crooner but it didn't work....... i hope i didn't start a new thread or something

thanks crooner, i hope that vette works out well
patience is a key element to theming, if you take your time, then the theme will be great.

Here are some screens of what i've done so far:
