seven dollars for a beer ain't too bad.
But a Mexican beer? Does that really count as an import?
That's like 'imported' Canadian beer.
WTF? They drove it down an interstate.

Brilliant!
Tomorrow night when I order a LaBatt Blue and they tell me it costs $4.25 - I'll hand 'em three U.S. dollars and tell 'em to keep the change.

[thread hijack] So I went to my local beer joint earlier this evening. Mostly to give chicks a rare opportunity to hit on me. Sure enough, while I was leaning against the wall watching the Charlotte Panthers lose to the Falcons - thus ending any chance of being in the Superbowl - I felt something poking my back. It was a drunk chick holding a pool cue between her legs and using the big end to kinda poke me with. I looked at her and smiled. She wasn't all that hot. Every few minutes she kept coming by to poke me with the cue. Finally, this big-ass country dude walked over to me and apologized for his girlfriend's behaviour. With total seriousness he said to me, "I think she does stuff like that because she likes you."
That's about the time I decided to leave and head on home. So I could logon to MacNN and mingle with normal wierdos - instead the really afflicted bizarre mofos that live around here.[/thread hijack]

7$ for a beer that's not even a beer ? It's piss water. A beer should cost no more than 1 (or 2 in clubs) 2,5-3 for "special" beers like Duvel. Ooh, it's good being young in Europe

That's pretty damn funny!
Ambush: don't drink imports at clubs, I'm sure a domestic beer would have been only $5.

LABATT BLEUE SUCKS
Ha ha... Corona is awful. You need to put a lime wedge in it just to make it not taste like crap. Lebatt Blue isn't bad. It's a typical beer... I'm more of a fan of Molson... North Americas oldest brewery.

Duvel's nice. Alas, I only know one pub round here that has it.
2 for a pint round here... circa $4 US. Can't remember the Euro exchange rate but I think you win

I'm personally not the clubbing type. I went to a club about 2 weeks ago and just felt out of place. I like my chill parties ;-)

Yeah well, I did cheat a bit. 1 is for a normal beer (Stella) in Leuven, which is a student town. Normal price for a beer is 1,5. And that not a "pint", it's 25cl, not 50cl.
2 = 3, x 1,5 and you have the Euro (aprox.). So technically I win since it would be 2x1 for 0,5 liters of beer.

My figures are from student-ish places. The SU can serve beer for 1.70 and some of the surrounding pubs are 2.30 but it averages at 2.
Of course, as a student you live by "happy hour" and get your pound-a-pint rounds in
For anyone metrically challenged, a pint is 568ml - just so they can compare the prices we're talking about Goldfinger! You can get half-pints here too, but generally you buy pints unless you're in a rush or really strapped for cash!

A bar with a jukebox with Johnny Cash, The Clash and/or MC5 is usually a good bar.
