Well, I ordered my nano the minute the Apple store came back online yesterday. Since Steve said they were shipping "today" (meaning yesterday) ... I opted for overnight delivery, so I could get it in my hands today. But alas, I have received no shipment confirmation as of this morning.

Anyone else who ordered yesterday get a shipment notification?

Processing for me too... I ordered mine about 10 minutes after the Apple Store was back online. And it's telling me I may have to wait til the 12th to have it shipped here.

Well, here it is Friday, and still at a "Preparing Shipment" status. Looks like no nano for me till next week. Meanwhile, all the lucky people who live in areas where there are Apple stores can walk right in and buy one off the shelf. Meanwhile, I'm now paying $18 for overnight delivery on something that I won't get until a week after the product started shipping!

I'm so impatient for new gear ... wish Apple would open a store in Nebraska ...

I ventured over to my local Apple store to see if they had any on display. Alas, they did not. They are still waiting for the display models to arrive. They did have quite a few of the Nanos in both colors in stock, though. I won't buy it until I test it first.

I order from the UK Apple Store at 9:40pm on the 7th and it arrived at 11am on the 9th. 37 hours !!

Ordered a white 4GB nano from the US Apple Store on 09/07/2005 at 05:06 PM PDT. Still "Preparing Shipment" as of 03:06 PM PDT, 09/09/2005. What a drag!!

Meanwile, I walked into Apple Store Southpoint in Durham, NC and picked up a black 4GB. Charging now.

Finally "Shipped!" I ordered the 4GB nano in black on 9/07/05 with next day delivery. Estimated arrival 9/12/05. That's not a very quick next day delivery!

Guess I may of just missed it by a business day. Blah.

When I check my fedex tracking number it doesn't tell me where the originating location came from at the moment. It is just telling me that it is currently in CA. However the people in the forums over at ilounge.com have said that they are shipping from China which seems to make sense to me as previous Apple products I've ordered have been shipped from China. Hope that helps!

Looks like my 4GB white won't be delivered until next week either... still preparing shipment, so my guess is that it won't hit "Shipped" until Monday, and then be delivered on Tuesday.

I ordered my white 4GB after the keynote. It is still in Shenzen China. Apparently it has literally missed the boat as Fedex did not receive it from Apple (got mine engraved) untill after the "FedEx cutoff." Hopefully there will be another shipment before Monday. I paid for expedited to Canada. Probably a mistake.

I paid for expedited as well, and bypassed the engraving because I had assumed that would make it ship faster (1-3 business days versus 3-5 business days). I suppose I could have been wrong, since I think people who ordered engraved iPods have already received them.

Well, I drove all the way from Omaha, NE to Des Moines, IA this afternoon (2 hour drive - took a family trip) to the nearest Apple store, and picked up a new 4G White nano. I'm disappointed that my order didn't get shipped as quickly as many others, so when I do receive it, I'll probably return or sell to someone else. Regardless, I've got my new nano, and am loving it so far!

hehe I'm glad I'm not the only one who did that... had mine ordered since 9/7, but on 9/9 I drove out to the Apple Store and picked one up. I'm glad I did - this black one is awesome!

Mine seems to be sitting in a UPS facility in E. Petersburg PA, and it seems it will take until the 13th for it to make the 4 hour drive to my house. Which kind of sucks. But at least I get it before my birthday, if only just

Mine is *still* Preparing Shipment. I wonder how long I should give them before I call and complain? Some people got theirs on Friday, and mine hasn't even shipped yet? If it'd shipped with the others, maybe even regular shipping would arrive faster, hehe.
