Never had this problem before.. But im trying to update both my macs with the updates that Apple put out over the last few days. And christ! Are they slow to download! Im getting about 25kb/s at best at the moment. But if I go to say, Version tracker, and download them from there, they wizz along as fast as my connection will allow (Which is 10 times faster than im getting now)
It cant just be me.. Or is it?

The MacBook just got released. My guess is that Apple's servers are probably jammed right now from people checking that out.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Sounds like a plausible explanation Charles, apart from this problem started yesterday (before the new mac was released).
Plus, if I select the files from VersionTracker to download, it downloads at full speed, and I would have thought the files are still coming from Apple direct?
In fact, just to be sure.. I just went to Apples own download page, and its downloading just fine at full speed from there too. Its just via the software update control panel that it is horribly slow.
Same thing is happening on 2 different macs (both running 10.4.6)
I can't for the life of me work out why??
