Pentaculum Magicus is my first successful attempt in using Oxidizer to render desktop size images. Enjoy!

Did you have any problems with this program? I've been trying different settings, re-downloading it, and reading all the documentation on sourceforge and no matter what I do it quits when I hit render.

I really wanna check this out, based on what you posted it looks awesome!

I crashed for two straight days on an iMac Core Duo, losing what may have turned into some really nice images. Then I thought a little about what I was doing and the one thing missing was I didn't save the flam3 files. Once I did start saving things have been much better.

Here's a quick outline of my workflow...
  • Fill the Gene Pool and do a little cross breeding with 2 or 3 candidates and then breed again if something does't catch my eye.
  • Send one selected flame to the Editor and save it.
  • Set image parameters; dimensions to 2800x2100 with a zoom somewhere between 3.5 to 4.2. Tweak position, rotation and symmetry settings.
  • Save the flame again.
  • Make color adjustments, save again.
  • Change the quality setting in Render tab to 100 from 25. Save the flame.
  • Close the Editor and render to an image file.
  • Wait somewhere between one day a one week while the render does its magic.
  • Post process in Photoshop.

Hope that helps!

Wow. Worked like a charm, thank you so much. This is probably one of the coolest new programs I've downloaded in the last year. Thanks for the help.
