I have the feeling than macnn.com is not an appropriate domain name anymore. I understand that the iPhone is the new hot thing out from Apple and it shares the same OS as the Mac, but nonetheless, the past few months 80+% of the news are related to a phone! Shall the domain change to something like iphonenn.com

Member for six years; two posts. One in 2005, and this thread.

I always wonder how such things come to be. It seems so random.

It's almost like a spammer that rediscovers a nick that he registered and forgot about.

Except that this thread contains no spam.

Oh, wait, maybe I should check iphonenn.com

If you go too iPhonenn.com, it goes to a site called iPhone Addicts, which hasn't been updated in a year. Interesting.

Whether the OP is legit or not, I have to admit that all the hype and mass news posting of iPhone related stuff has become rather OTT & tiresome. We as a 'Mac' community may do well to remember that Apple is still primarily a computer company after all. It's not Nokia or Sony-Ericsonn or Blackberry etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love the iPhone (I have one) but sometimes enough is enough, you know? Ok, so it is indeed the latest hot thing. But it is not Apples core business.

Someone summed it up nicely a few days ago in a news posting comment. Where the article was about Apple being the most successful producer of touchscreen smart phones. To which someone quite rightly replied "Next they will be reporting that Apple is the most popular supplier of computers that run OS X"

By all means post the significant iPhone news, but not inane stuff like that..
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

Same thing happened when iPods came out. The hysteria will die down to mere fanaticism.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

Well the hysteria hasn't gone down!

And what's with all these Nokia, HTC and other phone news? I can understand to give coverage on Apple's products like the iPhone and iPod, but do we need to cover every electronic device that's not a real peripheral to the Mac platform? What's the point of the Electronista site then? I think every camera, phone, games console etc should only be mentioned there and the macnn should strictly remain for Apple related products.

I think 99% of the members here like macnn to be mac related. If you think a iphonenn site is worthwhile, no one is stopping you from creating one.
