first of all, your intention to gain people that will be your "friends" is just wrong.

Secondly, facebook is good.

FINALLY, myspace is the VD-ridden corner of the internet.

I refuse to succumb to the filth on MySpace.
Facebook has a much better UI, but I'm growing out of it.

Oh, and yes, I use "whatever else there is", namly LinkedIn: Relationships Matter and XING

I prefer XING, because you don't need to buy credits to contact people that you know.

As I see it, Facebook is only used so you can see if the people you thought were hot in high school and/or college are indeed still hot.

Your survey is flawed. You need TWO more options: "My own web site" and "who needs this stuff anyway?". I'm in the latter category.

I have a number of classmates who have both Facebook and My Space, and they have had a number of problems with both of them. Most especially is the problem of privacy-when the owners change stuff WITHOUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION OF THE USERS, this can be a real problem. This has happened recently, and a number of my classmates dumped or severely limited what they had posted on either/both.

I just don't need that much personal stuff so accessible, so my friends have my phone number and email address, my classmates have those (with a school email in this case) and anyone I want to contact as well. Otherwise, nope.

I do have a personal web site-which is still an "under construction" site because of school... Maybe over the holidays...

I own an old-fashioned device called a "telephone". It's very useful for staying in touch with friends. Only today I used it to shout the word "wassup" at a couple of them.

I'm a facebooking college student. Sad to see it open up to the general public, ie. pedophiles and rapists. Oh well, I stick to my school network and make myself invisible to everyone else.

I feel like MySpace is more of a place to whore yourself out in terms of your own music and making it a place to boast.

Facebook is a place to connect with people.

Facebook. Useful for keeping in touch with those people that I kinda knew in high school but don't really talk to anymore. Also great for birthdays!

Any ramblings are entirely my own, and do not represent those of my employers, coworkers, friends, or species

I've avoided online "communities" – LiveJournal, MySpace, Facebook – like the plague after my initial trials. Too many people talking about themselves, I found.

But now everyone's Facebooking, and I'm always getting "tagged" emails from someone or other. It almost makes me want to join, just so I can see. But I'm holding out. I'm being strong, for everyone who isn't.

Facebook is harmless Moncton. Join up, if you're concerned about privacy then make yourself completely invincible in the privacy settings and add the friends you want who can contact you/tag you etc.

I hate to say this, but I like myspace better. Posting pictures and videos is nice, and you can read about people who aren't your friends yet. Sometimes people ask me to be their friend, and it's people that I used to know, and I'm not really friends with them, but I'm curious as to what they're up to. Facebook doesn't allow you to see what they're doing, and the profile is definitely lacking, it's more of an update to what they're doing on facebook than anything else. I really don't give a **** if they've been posting on someone else's wall, or changing their favorite movies.

i love facebook, i cant afford a cell right now and you cant talk to 300 friends on your cell, you cant put up albums of the party the night before. its just a cool way of connecting, just like Macnn.
