transparency is evidently now 100% supported in Leopard
right?

what do you mean 100% supported? What in tiger doesn't support transparency? That's just an application that lets you build animations...

I was kinda hopeing for truly transparent finder
(a thing I like about Vista)

Yeah, I don't think core animation has anything to do with transparency, and from the look of the current leopard dev screenshots, the finder looks almost exactly the same. I wouldn't be surprised if themeing doesn't change at all except for some added elements.

I'm sure that's not the Finder and desktop we'll be seeing, the videos shown today depict a Tiger desktop with the 'new apps' . they must have re-designed the Finder at the least and a couple other things, they just don't want microsoft to see it yet
