It takes 25 seconds to move any simple folder from the finder to the desktop. Wtf?
There are other ways too in which Leopard seems crippled on my macbook Pro 233 w 2 G's of Ram ?

Yeah, my folders show up almost instantly. What size folders are you moving, and what's the configuration of your machine?

Regular folders.
restarted
Spotlight didn't do the same indexing thing that it did with Tiger ie. visibly
Even when I click on a folder it opens fast, but takes about 5 seconds to display
??
Insane
Maybe I shouldn't have pre ordered
maybe I should do a clean install

Everything is at least 30% faster since I installed Leopard. It was an upgrade I did. Amazing. All my issues with firefox (where it was slow) magically disappeared too.

you should do an archive-install. You should be able to do it even with your current Leopard installation. Just boot from the disc and choose it.

So there is no dot in the Spotlight magnifying glass? Because my system was slow while Spotlight was indexing, but now it's downright zippy.

No there is no dot is Spotlight
I thought maybe it had to do with the Time machine backing up
but thats long over
or maybe that the external drive was connected w/ Firewire 400
Thanks Code Warrior, y es I might end up doing the Archive install.
