I backed up my PowerBook Al Jaguar install to my Powermac G4 PCI via Carbon Copy Cloner with the PB in Target disk mode . I then did an Erase and Install of Tiger on the PowerBook. I want to migrate the backup on the G4 to my 15" PowerBook via the Migration Assistant, but evidently I can't launch the old G4 tower in FireWire Target disk mode. It's very irritating seeing as how the Apple simply says a FireWire Mac is required.
I'm stumped, can anyone advise?

Why don't you Carbon copy clone your back up to the Pbook, with the Pbook in target disk mode?

Why didn't you just update the installation and imported all settings, users, apps, etc. with the Migration Assistant?
I think your best bet is to Copy everything back onto your PowerBook and then Update OS X, importing all users and settings.

I tried that previously and found it to be extremely sluggish, and it broke some stuff. I want a clean virgin install to bring my settings and email back into.
I have an 2001 CRT iMac that does support FW Target Disk mode, I might try intalling the bigger drive in that.
