im having trouble installing the gtk+-2.6.9 library. it requires pango, atk, and glib-2.0, all of which i have installed, but i get this error when i run ./configure:
checking for pkg-config... /sw/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for BASE_DEPENDENCIES_CFLAGS...
checking for BASE_DEPENDENCIES_LIBS...
Package glib-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `glib-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'glib-2.0' found
configure: error: Package requirements (glib-2.0 >= 2.6.0 atk >= 1.0.1 pango >= 1.8.0) were not met.
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively you may set the BASE_DEPENDENCIES_CFLAGS and BASE_DEPENDENCIES_LIBS environment variables
to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for
more details.
ive tried modiyfing PKG_CONFIG_PATH to /opt/local/lib and /opt/local/lib/glib, but then i realized that neither of those directories have glib-2.0.pc. they have the .dylib and .h files. im (almost) sure that i installed glib-2.0 correctly, but then again im like 6 hours old in the unix/command line world, so i could have done it incorrectly.
im kind of at a loss. all the problems ive run into up to now ive been able to solve using google and a bit of luck, but im stumped as to how to get gtk to see glib (or how to install glib correctly).
any help at all would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your time
