I already emailed these as feedback but thought it useful to post here so we can discuss:

1. Managing a huge book and CD collection is great but what I really need is a way
to manage all my gadgets / toys too.

2. Im thinking this would be useful to catalog stuff for insurance purposes so for things like
gadgets you would need fields for serial numbers, etc.

3. Often during title searches, more then one entry of the same thing comes up. Sometimes these
are the same thing in multiple formats - sure would be nice to know what format without
having to click through to each Amazon page to compare them.

4. If an image is not found for a book or CD and we add one ourselves, it might be useful to
be able to contribute that image back to Amazon so it can be shared by all.

These are all good features... things I'd like to do, but of course I don't want to do any of them halfway, so if you don't see 'em in the next release, it's not because I didn't like the idea, it's just because there were probably hidden implications that made the idea not feasible right now.

Submitting data back to Amazon is a little tricky right now -- the APIs we use don't support it, so we'd have to screen-scrape HTML, which is possible but not pretty. We're still waiting on them to provide us with XML APIs to things which require people to log in -- they feel this is a security issue, we do not.
