Pretty impressive reliability statistics given the negativity reported on most Mac sites:

I doubt it when it comes to email and messaging. The iPhone can't even do messaging and email at the same time without background notifications.

I had a go on the new Storm yesterday. It was pre-release version so the software was obviously buggy. The device was shorter but thicker than the iPhone, very densely built. It had a very bright sharp screen with a wicked click response. The GUI needs a lot of work though, looks much better on the Bold.

What does any of that have to do with reliability?

The only thing that might be a bit misleading about those figures is the fact that most Blackberry users don't own their phone; most iPhone users do. If the company buys it for you there's no way you're going to treat it as well.

I just had to mention the device in case anyone wants to know. The naff thing about it was it had a plastic screen which already had scratches.

Wouldn't that be "6% more reliable"?

((100-5.6)/(100-11.2)-1)*100 = 6.3

I thought so at first,too.

But half as likely to fail actually *does* mean "twice as reliable."
