Reading the Ain't It Cool News spoiler turned me off, but this trailer definitely has me intrigued. Hollywood will be getting my $10 on May 26th.

Bah, they filmed this outside my window at 1-3 AM throughout October. There's nothing quite like waking up to explosions, smoke, and weird light over the houses across from my backyard.

On the first night I thought one of the factories back there had exploded, and I called the fire department.

Was the whole production moved to BC? They filmed much of the first and second here in Toronto and area.

It looks awesome! A great looking story, apparently all the original people, and of course great production values-it looks like it will be a great success.

Tomchu, sorry they woke you up. Maybe you should have asked for a cameo for your troubles.

I think a good portion of it was. The residents of my area eventually got letters in the mail about the filming, with apologies for the inconvenience. The letterhead was from "X3 Canada, Inc." with some reference to BC from what I can remember.

Do the battle scenes remind anyone of the battle scenes between man and machine in Terminator 2.

If the movie is nearly as good as the trailer suggests, I'd hit it.

Beast doesn't look bad at all, and that is what I was worried most about. Still didn't see Gambit. Famke looks awesome in those little shorts. Magneto looks pissed. I'll be there may 26.

Something about the first 2 movies didn't work for me. I think it was the directing. I didn't dislike them, and even own them on DVD but I found them rather vanilla.

I think it is because Storm sucked, the action scenes were all meh and it just isn't the same without the giant Sentinels.

It'll be interesting to see who stays on for X4, if there is one. Luckily there are quite a few mutants around to fill the rants if anyone leaves....

I can't wait to download it in May... maybe see it in october. Hollywood will most certainly be getting my 1000 Yen.

If memory serves, Wolverine and Gambit both try to act badass while Cyclops is near the exact opposite.

Wolverine is gruff and aggressive while Gambit is more jokey and laid-back. Like, just because neither of them is a prancing fairy, they're too much alike?

What? Storm had the BEST lines! Like, um....

"Do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning? (Dramatic, Oscar-worthy pause) The same thing that happens to everything else."

Yeah, actually the first movie was OK. Better than I thought it would be. Casting was good for all parts, especially Jean and Wolverine. The 2nd movie was MUCH MUCH better, though. Better action sequences came with the bigger budget.

My top 5 comic book movies:

1. Batman Begins
2. Spider-Man 2
3. Superman The Movie
4. Spider-Man
5. X-Men 2

It's actually kind of a funny line. Halle Berry just didn't get that it was a joke and delivered it in the same stilted deadpan she used for every other line in that movie.

Exactly, Chuckit. She just didn't get it. X-Men was full of funny lines (purposely or not).

I didn't say I agreed with them, that's just probably they're reasoning. They are much more alike personality-wise than Wolverine and Cyclops though.

The Crow and Sin City were both good, but c'mon, man, Superman The Movie is a classic, and ahead of its time with great special effects!

Besides, that's my top 5. What's yours?

Oh yeah, and Batman 1 (Burton) is my number 6.

Makes a little bit of sense, but I think the fans are due at least a cameo.

It was good, and it did show Batman as a ninja. A badass ninja. But really, the villians of Batman and Batman Returns were so well done. Plus the atmosphere of Gothem City was extreamly well done. Batman Begins was good, but I don`t know about it being the best...

Gotham was Chicago, but so many renditions of Batman have been done as if Gotham was New York. Wrong! I think the effort to make EVERYTHING Chicago-like (even the license plates-they're Illinois plates with "Gotham" instead of "Illinois") was a masterstroke of believability.

And it's hard to beat Michael Caine doing ANYTHING on screen. "I hope he wasn't part of the fire brigade!"

Jonasmac, Katie was a sidelight, not the focus, so as long as she didn't look like Rosanne Barr at age 90, she was fine. I thought she looked "serious but cute." The only character issue I have with the film was the guy that played the shrink/Scarecrow. Much too young and pretty-but maybe that was the point.

It basically is. Gotham City was based on New York, the name is taken from New York, it's usually written as being on the East Coast (currently in NJ, however, as the comic books have it as being a separate place) -- it's very strongly identified with New York as seen through the worst light. Metropolis is more readily identifiable with Chicago, although to be honest, while originally based on Cleveland and Toronto, it's also become highly associated with New York.

I liked Gotham City as Chicago. Chicago is a beautiful city (not that New York isn't, I've just never been there) and it was nice to see something so familiar.

I've always thought of Metropolis as being more like Washington, DC for some reason.
