i am looking for a free or cheep method for internet video conferencing. i do not use a mac (at work where this will be implemented) so ichat is not an option. is there anything besides skype? im new to this type of communication so any info on VC would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Why do you want to use something different to Skype? Skype works with both Windows and Mac. The quality is great and it's free.

I think you can do something similar with the Windows MSN client and the Windows AIM client.

Depends what you mean by 'conferencing'.

thank you for the heads up on sightspeed.

what i meen by conferencing is one camera in a main conference room allowing individuals to speak to (only 4 locations) around the US, for simple meetings.

To be honest, if it's for business purposes, I'd go for a professional system.

Nothing is more annoying than conference calls that constantly get distracted by technical issues because someone tried to save a buck.

If you REALLY need video, get a pro system.
Otherwise, NetMeeting / WebEx + a conference call line does a much better job by focusing on the issue at hand, rather than unnecessary & cheap bells and whistles.
