I need to delete a folder that has a collection of files from the past 2 years, that is being housed on a Readynas NV+ made by Netgear. We access the files via AFP:// but I can not for the life of me delete the folder, or its contents. I have run BatChmod and applied permissions to enclosing folder, yet I still am getting wrong permissions, also saying that it is being used by another user. What are my options to just FORCE these files to get deleted?

I have shut down entire network and connected to the NAS yet I still get the open / permission error. There is USB ports but not for me to plug into access it as a mounted drive, its only for diagnostics / connecting additional storage.

sudo mkdir /Volumes/active

sudo mount_afp -i afp://active:[email protected]/active /Volumes/active

The drive mounts! but it has a stop sign = no permissions.

I have found this thread, but ill admit allot of the verbiage is a bit to intense for me to understand.
