Safari 3.0 beta causes iChat delay

Hey all... discovered an annoying bug in Safari 3 beta after installing this afternoon.
After installing Safari 3 beta, iChat instant message sent text hangs (... bubble) until you send another message. Doesn't matter if its an encrypted IM or non-encrypted ...dot Mac account or AIM account.
I've reported the bug to Apple... fortunatly running the un-installer back to v2.0.4 works perfectly and iChat is back to normal.
I think I'll give Safari 3 another try once this kink is worked out... but if you're experiencing this problem, please report it to Apple so it can get fixed!

I noticed the same lag problem, and hence uninstalled Safari 3.
dowNNshift: Do you by any chance have Chax installed?

Hm. I have Chax installed, and so far, it seems to be working fine.

Nope, No Chax here... just the original install of iChat v3.1.8.

I have the same problem. :/
14" iBook G4 (PowerPC 1.42Ghz/512k L2/333Mhz FSB)
1024Mb DDR333 (2x 512Mb)
60Gb Hdd (4200 rpm/PATA)
ATI 32Mb GPU (AGPx4)
Combo Drive
OS 10.4.9
I have Chax... no help.
Also I've noticed, not only does it take time to send, it take a long time to receive so long as you don't touch the computer.

My solution was to uninstall Safari 3. (Which was documented in a different thread.)

Apple released Safari Public Beta 3.0.2 via Software Update.
This version fixes the iChat & Chax delay.
|
|
