That's my bold prediction. That sometime within the next 4 years there will be a powerbook G5.

Just me having a little fun at all the rumors.

I have a question.

How often do PC's update?

I mean they seem to update a lot quicker than Apple, but maybe that's only because I, like most of you, pay much closer attention to it all.

It seems that hours after a new release, us apple nuts are already wondering when the new version will be out.

We are never happy. We think the current lineup is old, becaues we spend too much time looking at the specs from the 1st day.

Truth is, the current lineup is great and waiting for the next big thing is just too painful.

Don't like rumors drive you nuts. It's just a computer after all. Or is it?

I know that Intel's Centrino chip isn't updated that often. I don't have the exact number of months, but I know that it isn't updated much faster than the PowerBooks. There new Centrino chip was suppose to be out Feb/Mar but we haven't heard nothing about it yet.

Centrino hasn't really seen a significant update since September/Octoberish when the 1.7 GHz came out, and coincidentally, thats when the 1.33 GHz G4 was being put into the 17 Inch PowerBooks.
15 inch MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 7200 RPM 100GB HDD.

Dual 2.5 GHz Power Mac G5, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, ATI Radeon X800XT.

I'm with a PB 1.33 1GB RAM 80Gb 4200rpm.
I've never been so up-to-date for so long...
I think there will be another G4 update before PB G5, but is just one in a bunch of predictions...
Now I'm totally wireless, with a DI-624 Xtreme D-Link.
Tomorrow I'll get my Lacie D2 FW 250GB Triple Interface HD....i'm thinking about import all my CD's in 160kbps mp3
The G4 1.33 (even the 1.25 and 1GHZ) has so many possibilities to explore....why care so much about the PB G5...let it come when it comes.... :-)
there's a lot to enjoy until this day
regards

Predictions can make the basis for some excellent dialog and debate though.

This is what forums are all about!

Hmm. Perhaps I need to join you in making a PowerBook prediction.
