Hissing from Speakers in 10.2

I just installed 6C115 and it is awesome (don't worry I am a developer so it is all legit). I am having a problem that from startup I am hearing hissing from my speakers.
I tried trashing sound and network prefs but have not successfully removed the somewhat annoying noise. It seems to be conected to the networking as it really acts up when I connect to Adium or iChat.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hissing in speakers can come from a number of sources. The first thing I would try is rotating the speaker plugs. Seriously.

Have you checked if the speakers are plugged in correctly, they really have to click into place, sorry if this sounds dumb, but I also had a hissing noise from my pro speakers and they just weren't plugged in all the way... Sometimes external devices like printers and firewire drives can produce a hissing sound, but if that was the case you should probably have had the problem pre-jaguar...

How this?
I've had a crackling/hissing (sounds a little bit like harddisk read/write noise) on my iMac DV 400 speakers since installing my US-428 USB audio interface...I've been ignoring it, since it's not as loud as my external drives, but it does make me wonder (and yes, it DEFINITELY comes from the speakers.)...

What happens is... whenever I'll first open quicktime or iTunes or anything requiring my speakers, there is a brief tone and then hissing emerges from the speakers and lasts for awhile. It also happens when connecting to iChat.
It's definitely not from the HD as it can be heard from the speakers.
This never happened in 10.1.5 and it is my only annoyance in 10.2 ... I have to turn my volume higher to compensate.
BTW iMac 800 SuperDrive w/ Apple Pro Speakers.

There is a bug in 10.2 that affects some systems (mine is one). Apple have said it is a known bug that they are working on.
In my case, after waking from sleep, my internal speaker on my powermac will hiss. The way to stop it is to go to the system preferences and click on "Sound". It will then stop as it loads (and initialises I assume) the sound panel.
It can also be stopped by forcing a sound through the internal speaker. Not much use of course if you have USB speakers attached like I do.
