Crushing Atlanta, the Bears are next (if they even make it past the Seahawks).

Aaron Rogers is just absolutely stunning.
If they continue to play like this, they're going straight for the Superbowl.

Go Packer

Go Packers!

It's Chicago next. Oh how Chicago tried to sink the Packers in week 17 and prevent them from getting into the playoffs. It was pure spite.

Which made it all the more poetic when the Packers crushed them. Despite their best efforts.

It makes it also all the more exciting to see the next game and I hope the Packers will repeat a victory over the Evil Bears.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Yeah, *if* the Packers can play like they did the last two games, the Bears stand no chance.

Rogers is red-hot. I have seen nothing from the Bears to convince me they are the better team.
Out of the 4 teams left (GB, CHI, NYJ, PIT), the Bears are the weakest team IMO.

Crushed? What game were you watching Euroboy?
It was a one possession game. Green Bay won by a single touchdown. In fact the packers were held to one touchdown that entire game. And anyone who watched the game could tell it wasn't Chicago's best effort. They were already a lock for the playoffs and had a first round bye week no matter what the outcome of that game was.
The Packers were more hungry and more importantly, desperate. The Bears were blasé just like they were the last 5 minutes of last night's game.

And of course it was pure spite. Every interaction between these two teams is laced with spite.

Well, maybe they showed a half-assed effort in week 17.
It just doesn't make sense that they did.

If they wanted to keep the Packers out of the postseason, they should have given their best.
If they didn't care, they could have rested their important players.

Whatever they did, it achieved nothing.

And, mind you, the Packers lost by 3 in the first game, and won by 4.
The lost game was entirely of GB's making, with a lot of rookies making stupid mistakes, raking up penalties. Nothing in that game was convincing me that the Bears were the fundamentally better team.

Let's look at is this way:

Bears (#2 seed) won by 11 over SEA (#6 seed).
The Packers (#6 seed) won by 27 over ATL (#1 seed).

It's clear what team has more momentum.

According to you.
The starters were kept in because Lovie wanted to play them the whole game. That doesn't mean he could force the players to give a damn about GB in the playoffs much less make them put in the same effort they normally would have if they'd have anything to gain.

Let's look at is this way:

Bears (#2 seed) won by 11 over SEA (#6 seed).
The Packers (#6 seed) won by 27 over ATL (#1 seed).
No, you want to look at it that way.
What i saw in the last regular season game is the same thing i saw last night.
That once the end result for them is a lock the effort put forward by the Bears drops to nil.
The final score margin could and should have been 25 points but once that 2 min warning came around and Chicago knew the game was won they stopped trying. That was blatantly clear

Or do you have a better reason why Seattle score more points in the last two minutes than they had the entire rest of the game? Did they suddenly become a better team because they knew they'd lost?

Yeah, see, that's the difference. The Bears stop trying, the Packers don't.

Meh, the Pack let the Bears have too many chances. If they give the Steelers that many chances*, they'll be in trouble.

I agree, they can't afford to be that sloppy in the superbowl. I'm not sure how much of it was (undue ?) respect for the Bears defense.

I'm actually rooting for the Jets, based solely on what happened nine months after they won their last (Only!) Superbowl.

But, I don't think it will happen. Especially if they can't stop the Steelers' running game.

My only fear for the Packers is an emotional let down. Much like the Jets last game against the Patriots, to most of WI and certainly to both the Packers and Bears franchises, this game was pretty much "our" Superbowl. I really feel that the Jets put all of their chips in the pot emotionally against the Patriots and they just couldn't get themselves up the same way against the Steelers.

Having said that, I'm still going to go with the Packers. Rodgers is a lot better indoors than he is outdoors, our defense is playing as well as any defense in the league right now, we actually have a half decent running game right now, and our receiving core is deep enough to avoid having to go directly at the Steelers key secondary players.

So long Da Bears, you had it coming from trying to push the Packers out of the playoffs to begin with. Poetic justice and you had it coming. The interception and touchdown by Raji was the moment I knew we had won Suck it Fridge, we got the Freezer.

Pathetic to see Peppers arguing with the ref after he headbutted Rodgers extremely on purpose against the personal foul. Idiot.

Packers have a good shot against the Steelers, certainly - but it was extra sweet beating the Bears at home However the Packers' special teams are anything but special. Kick return is so bad it's painful to watch. Good to see Masthay can deliver, as per this game against the Bears.

I'm going to say 24 Packers - 17 Steelers in the Superbowl, but I've never been one to write off the Steelers beforehand. Then again, as the Steelers should know, you can't ever write off the no. 6 seed either (like when the Steelers won the Superbowl being the 6th seed)

No matter what happens, I'm thrilled to see the Packers in the Superbowl, they certainly deserve it and both teams are great Superbowl material. We're heading for a great Superbowl this year.

Go Pack go!!

PACKERS WIN SUPERBOWL!!!

Extra sweet because it involved winning the Beers twice at home and that they won as the 6th seed against Steelers (which ironically they did also last time they won teehee)

Good guess! 31-25 was the final score.

Aaron Rogers has just as many rings as Favre has, but he did one thing that Favre didn't do: be the Superbowl MVP.

Good game. Glad it wasn't a blow out.

Was a great game. They have been in recent years, IMO. Glad the Packers won. Should have phoned Vegas to make it that much more enjoyable. . .

I was shocked the refs swallowed their whistles and did not call pass interference, extending the Stealers last drive. The refs have been the Stealers 12th man in their previous two SBs (XL and XLIII) and have made calls that affected the outcome of the game. Congrats the the Packers for their 13th overall NFL championship, and fourth SB trophy (Brett who?)

And Slash, and Christina Aguilera. Really, the musical talent that was organized around the event completely upstaged the game itself.

This is stupid. It's like people who think a basketball player sucks because he's not good enough to start for an NBA team. He'll still eviscerate 99% of regular folk.

Jeez you guys. Do I really need to spell it out?

I said I was stunned by the level of talent. Talent can have many levels. Some of which might be quite low.

The joke is funnier the more you have to explain it.

Is it just me or do sporting events seem to be becoming more and more jingoistic in a particularly tasteless way? It seems weird enough to me that a sporting event would be seen as an opportunity to tell us how great we are, but combined with the Budweiser blimp and the NFL robot et all seems to make the entire thing a parody and/or mockery of itself...

It's also interesting that it seems like presidents are expected to take an interest and/or show up at these games. What happens if we have a president who doesn't care about football?
