more about the visuals than the gameplay.

am NOT a gamer (not since mararthon days...yikes!)
but want to see what this baby can do

(in a demo, without spending $ on something i will use for a week)

suggestions?

make sure you have 10.3.3, not 10.3.4, or the PC users will be laughing at you trying to run something as simple as the original unreal tournament at minimal graphics settings..

you could get halo, that has lots of bump mapping and reflection mapping.

whoops i guess not, although its incredibly easy to make one, just drag out the maps not wanted to be included with the game, thats it, not even kidding.

i guess you're stuck with ut 2k4

or halflife 2 i hope. (not soon)

Halo makes a great console game, but is a hog on either PC or Mac. It is however a beautiful game, although once again the console is ten times better. I recent downloaded the demo to Call of Duty. I'd suggest going to macgamefiles.com and checking out the "Most Popular" on the right hand side, Call of Duty, Metal of Honor, America's Amry, INDIANA JONES AND THE EMPEROR'S TOMB

HALO single player works fine on my 1.33 12in....

C&C Generals i very very nice. Again, plays fine on my 12in.

UT2004?

The problem is every good and cool new Mac game was a new and cool PC game about a year and a half ago.

Why don't you distract them with your Powerbook, then hit them over the head with a 2x4, and take their wallets. That'll show them.

Blame it on the economy.

You could show them a Mac only game like Nanosaur II. Not the greatest game or graphics in the world ever, but will look good on your PB.

gonna dL ut; like your suggestion tho...i could perhaps burn them with the 12" pb (thus not needing a 2x4)...and why blame the economy? can blame MS...

It seems 10.3.3 has better gaming performance than 10.3.4 on 12" PB's, there is a thread that discusses this here
