This is tragic.

I tell my roomate all the time not to do my laundry yet she insists on doing it. So last night she took out my shorts. What she didn't do, was check to see what was in them. Well my ipod mini was in it. So it took the abuse of a full wash, and then 30 minutes in the dryer. Mechanically, it doesn't turn on. Is there any hope of salvaging it?

don't give up quickly. I had the exact same situation with my roommate, except it was my cell phone. It took about 2 days to dry out before it would turn on, but since then, its worked like a champ. i won't speak for what might have happened to the hard drive, but give it some time and it may turn back on. i feel for you. I know the pain

That sucks for both of you. I guess she'll learn not to do your laundry, though.
