i just got an ipod shuffle. put about 4 hours of songs on it, went to listen (in shuffle mode).
i thought that 'shuffle' would go thru ALL SONGS before repeating anything. not true? i head a bunch of songs repeat before i got nearly thru an hour of listening.
just curious. makes sense (to me) that nothing would repeat until all songs have played...

Don't have any solid info to help you, all I can say is that I remember a while ago this happened to me for a few days of using my shuffle, and it was so annoying and I couldn't figure out what had happened. Then I reloaded with a different set of songs and it never happened again?
But I remember hitting the next button like 5 times in a row because those songs had already played.
Maybe try erasing and then reloading the music? Hope it works out for you.

I don't know if like the other iPods the shuffle has various shuffle settings. If it's primary shuffle directive is to shuffle albums, and you have only a few loaded, it might cycle through the albums without recognizing that a song has played already. If you have it set to shuffle by songs, then it shouldn't happen. I'm not sure if this is an option on the shuffle though.

Just a reminder: if the shuffle is indeed random, then you can hear the same song played twice in a row.
