BHO says "My faith in the American people has been vindicated" because he's the supposed front runner in this race for the presidency. So only now he has true faith in the American electorate? Sounds like just the kind of self-serving egotism and blind ambition we so desperately need to lead D.C..

His faith couldn't be vindicated if he didn't have any before now. Sounds like you're hearing what your biases want to hear.

When did he EVER say he didn't have faith in the American electorate? Like Chuckit said, you only hear what your bias wants to hear.

It just sounds so completely self-serving to say your faith is vindicated in your country when it's supporting your campaign. The implication is that if the polls are wrong and this power hungry Socialist doesn't win, he will no longer have faith in America. You guys are the ones apologizing for him.

Let me guess: he said it in the context of appreciating how hard his volunteers have worked and how amazing it is that so many people who have been turned off by politics are now engaged. Gosh darn it, why can't he spend more time telling people that they aren't real Americans?

Can black people be real Americans? Or are they fake Americans by definition? I wish McCain/Palin would clarify this---the election is tomorrow!!
The 4 o'clock train will be a bus.
It will depart at 20 minutes to 5.

Uh, no, that wasn't the context at all.

O'Rly?

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmi..._caucuses.html

Des Moines, Obama riffed on what he described as an underdog victory in Iowa in January.

"On the day of the Iowa caucus my faith in the American people was vindicated, and what you started here in Iowa has swept the nation," he said.

Obama referred to the high turnout and high volunteerism: "A whole new way of doing democracy started right here in Iowa," he said.

It's a slightly odd thing to say, though: Would his faith not have been vindicated if he'd lost?

UPDATE: An Obama aide points out that he used that line during the caucuses to talk about the process, not the result.

UPDATE: McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds: “Hardworking families need a President whose faith in the American people is not predicated on his own election."
In any event, it's not any more offensive or presumptuous than McCain/Palin thanking people for being "real Americans" because they support him.

Whatever happened with Larry Sinclair? I'm debating adding him to my list, but I seem to recall only Abe babbling about him, so I don't know if that makes it a valid addition...

He said that his faith HAS BEEN VINDICATED... present tense, not if something else does or does not happen. Geeze.

No, the implication is that he'd feel let down if McCain were elected. I imagine you'll feel likewise when Obama wins.

How is this any different than people saying that people who vote for Obama are "idiots", "brainwashed", or "useless idiots" because they don't support the policies of YOUR choice for President?

God, I cannot wait until all this BS is done and everything continues on the same bullsh!t slope as before.

One man is being elected to office and everyone is acting like Hitler just rose from the grave and is going to try to conquer the world again.

When can I expect sanity to make a return?

So what? Honestly, this whole thread really looks like grasping for a reason to bash Obama. There are plenty of valid criticisms of Obama without scraping the bottom of the barrel until it disintegrates and then dredging up some of the mud underneath the barrel.

I'm not sure they are "valid" reasons for bashing Obama, but the right has already come up with quite a few already. How many are in your list besson? 57?

You guys have a hefty list to choose from, why not just stick to one of those for the next 24 hours? There's really no reason to try and come up with more.

Personally, I think we need a few more threads calling Obama a communist. It also couldn't hurt to bring up Ayers here in the last 24 hours.
