Hey, not sure where exactly this post would go, but I'm thinking about getting a decent telescope for someone for Christmas and I was hoping to get one that works well with some good Mac software. I am very ignorant when it comes to telescopes, so I was hoping to get some information from anyone who knows better. TIA.

Best one I know of for Mac. They've been making it since I still had my IIvx. I also did a search on MacUpdate.com and found various software drivers for Meade and others. I haven't used any of this software since the computer controled stuff with GPS and all that jaz came out, I certainly don't have one now, so I don't know how the software drivers would tie in with Starry Night.

Edit:

Here're the links to the software drivers:

Edit 2:

Oops, sorry. Just reread the title. I guess you could go backwards from the software I provided to see which telescopes are supported. The only one I can officially vouch for is Meade. But I don't know how their Mac support is. The motors and GPS might be developed by a 3rd party company and bought outside of whatever telescope you choose.
