I recently (by accident) deleted a playlist from iTunes. I didn't realize for 2 weeks that it had happened.
Now there is no way to recover it.

There really should be a warning that pops up saying you are about to delete, or confirming that i want to delete. If it was a 'file' then i could restore from Time Machine, but since playlists are built into the entire iTunes music library its tough to recover.

Anyone something that i don't?

Try this:

Quit iTunes.

- go to your home user folder > Music > iTunes > Previous iTunes Libraries

- backup your current (newest) iTunes Library.itl file (e.g. copy it to anywhere you want.)

- rename an older iTunes Library 2012-month-day.itl file as iTunes Library.itl file

Open iTunes. Does your older playlist shows.? If it doesn't, do the whole thing again with an older itl file.

You're warned whenever you try to delete a playlist, unless you explicitly clicked the "do not warn me again" checkbox.

You can reset all disabled warnings in iTunes' advanced preferences.

Drag your itunes folder out of music annd use TM to get the backed up itunes library files. TM will back up all the files that tell itunes about your playlists etc.
