That was a real phone, the Nokia 8110. Unlike the one in the movie, though, the real 8110's slider isn't spring-loaded.

That phone hasn't been made in years, though, so your only chance of getting one is to get a used one, which I wouldn't really recommend since the slider has a tendency to go bad eventually. Although they should be readily available, since that phone model was all the rage in Europe in 1998-1999!

It's a strictly GSM900 phone, so if you use GSM1800/1900 or TDMA, CDMA, etc, you're totally out of luck. (If you're in the U.S., that phone will not work.)

The closest sliding phone to the original Matrix one is the Nokia 7110 IIRC.
