I'm thinking that maybe one of the jurors has let something slip to someone? But, isn't that illegal or something?

I think that they (the prosecutors) would be celebrating the fact that the prosecution prevails and he is convicted.
What I want to know is HOW and WHY they think they should celebrate their victory?
Personally, I'm not sure I could convict Jacko on what I've heard. The supposed victim comes across (through media reports and Jay Leno and George Lopez) as a con artist and his mother is a hustler.
And then you have to wonder about the mother: What mother would let her sons stay with Jacko overnight - all alone - on so many occasions? It makes no sense. I also heard she was charged with welfare fraud.
The whole thing raises reasonable doubt - which would mean that he could not be convicted.

They can indeed, assuming they have evidence of funny business.
Personally, I would be very surprised if the jury found him guilty. Although the evidence that he's molested children in the past is awfully compelling, the prosecution's handling of this particular charge has been, to put it charitably, utterly botched. In fact, given the prosecution's behavior on this particular charge (including some witnesses for their side who were proven to have been lying), I'm not sure that he isn't actually innocent of this one.
Ah, reasonable doubt.

Who says they're celebrating his conviction? I'm sure being done with such a huge trail is a big relief in itself.

Uhm. Sorry in advance.
"What's the difference between Michael Jackson and Willie Shoemaker?
Willie Shoemaker DOES have a license to ride 4 year olds.
I Got a new car radio. When you shout soul, it plays soul, when you shout rock it
plays rock. Some kids ran in front of me the other day and I shouted ****ing kids!
It played Michael Jackson.
How do you know when it's midnight at Michael Jackson's house?
When the big hand touches the little hand.
What do Michael and Wal-Mart have in common?
They both have boys briefs half-off (Duplicate)
Michael Jackson's wife has just given birth to a baby boy. "How long before we
start having sex?" asks Michael. Doctor: "I'd wait until he's at least 14" "

I've watched enough Law and Order to know that the defense can't declare a mistrial. The Judge would have to do that. And, I think the time for that is over, however to judge could nullify the verdict for cause I believe.
None of us were in the court room, so our info is certainly skewed by the media, but from what I've read, Jackson is clearly a nut case who should be removed from society, or at least his and all other kids, but I think this whole thing is a con-job on the part of the accusers.

Michael Jackson's handler decides Michael has a real image problem.
"Michael," he says, "you need to be careful right now. Start going out with 28-year-olds like a normal guy."
Michael looks a little confused by this, but finally gives in. "Okay, but I'm not sure my bed has enough room for 20 of them."
EDIT: Argh! Albert stole my punchline!

Michael, The Pope, Tom Cruise, and 1000 kids are on a boat in the middle of the ocean. The boat starts to sink and they all run to the life boat but there's only room for three people. Michael, the Pope and Tom climb in and Tom starts to lower the boat. As they start to descend, The pope yells "What about the poor children?!?" Tom Cruise yells "F*** the children!", Michael responds "Yes! Is there time?".

Albert Pujols:
YOU got me to laugh!
I guess this is a Wacko Jacko Joke Thread until the verdict is announced.
Anyway you slice it, the guy is cooked. Stick a fork in him and turn him over. Even if he is acquitted his life is pretty much ruined. He's basically bankrupt and he has no fan base that will buy his music. He's really too old, probably, to make a comeback. He sounds decrepit from what I've heard and seen about his health. He probably can't do much in the way of calisthenics exercises or his nose might fall off.
He needs to give his kids to people who care. The mother of those kids, Debbie Rowe, is an ass. She basically sold those kids to him and now she says she wants them back. What kind of a mother gives birth twice, gives the kids away, and never looks back? Not a good one, anyway.
When he dangled that baby over the balcony in Germany I thought he should have been arrested and locked up back then.
The entire thing is a disgrace. It's even worse than a cautionary tale. It's like watching a train wreck over and over again.
I was watching a show with George Lopez on it and he was talking about being subpoenaed to the trial and he said that he saw Michael Jackson and said, "The guy looks really weird. I've never met him. But, I feel sorry for him. He looks like one of those nutcracker puppets at Christmas because of his clothes and the way he looks with make-up."
No matter what happens his life is over as he knows it. I hope Paul McCartney can buy the rights to the Beatles' work back when he defaults on the loan that he took out on those rights. Bank of America sold those rights to a private group in NYC and I have a feeling that McCartney might just buy them back. After those rights are sold (or forfeited) the guy has, basically, nothing left. Neverland is totally maxed out, leveraged, in loans also.
What a disaster.

Cody, if "a juror let something slip" then the judge be forced to declare a mistrial-and thus start the whole circus over later on. If said juror did something like this, HE IS GOING TO JAIL. No doubt about it. Not only is it a serious offense to violate the trust of a jury, but with all the time and money poured into this trial, the citizens will DEMAND that at least one person goes to jail for screwing it up.
Also, if a prosecutor starts celebrating because a juror told him something about the outcome of deliberations, the juror won't be going to jail alone. As an officer of the court, the prosecutors are bound both by law and by oath to report this sort of violation to the court immediately.
I think the story is part of the prosecution's gameplan; they want the public to think that the case it all sewn up. I don't think so. "Reasonable doubt" is a very powerful thing.

As for the reports of an early celebration by the prosecuting team, I can only assume it's because the jury is taking a long time to deliberate, generally viewed as a good thing for the prosecution's side. I'm no lawyer, it's just something I heard on the radio when they were talking to a legal analyst about the case.
If jacko is indeed convicted and sent to prison, he goes right to the top of my Dead Pool. He won't do well in the general population of a prison. If he goes to Marion, Ill. or Lewisburg, PA, I give him less than 2 weeks.

I doubt a lawyer would celebrate if a juror told them one way or another, I think more likely they'd flip and beat the juror with a broom. They would be obligated to bring the whole thing out in the open, and the thing would start all over. My sister was articling this year and got really pissed off at a client when he told her that he could get people to say that he was somewhere when he wasn't. And so she was like, well you just shot yourself in the foot now I can't even help you if I wanted to.
