ok...I have been reading around this site for a while now. I wanted to gather enough information before I dish out the cash for a 12 inch powerbook. I do a lot of intensive audio production, chopping beats and many live plugins at one time, etc...I have heard that L3 cache and maxed out RAM are absolutely essential to my purposes.
Does Apple intend on modifying the current 12 inch to have L3 cache and more RAM? Will this be happening soon? the 15 inch is too large for me. There is so many rumours here...does anyone know? is sept 16'th going to make things more clear? all your advice is much appreciated.

cheers

Were... there's really no answer that's a fact for that *rumor* as of now. It might be true, but it might also not be true. I would say just wait until the Expo and see what new stuff they will show us. If they still didn't show the new version of the 12 inch, than I would say they won't have one for awhile (more like 3 to 6 more months) But you never know...

Another thing is if Motoslowa delivers the 7457 processor they have 512 L2 cache on the processor instead of the current 256. I doubt they'll put any L3 in the 12" but double the L2 will be a decent improvement.
