Are the new powerbooks likely to receive marks on the screen when they're closed? I know this was an issue with tibooks....do I have to cover my keyboard just to be safe?
cheers

Nope-you don`t have to. My PB17 has travelled with me for two months now-without any cover whatsoever and the screen is just like on the first day.

I am still using my iBook (buying PB in Jan), and I still have the original screen cover that came with the machine two years ago. I put it into the machine whenever I close the lid.

My best friend has a 17" (rev a). He found that he DID need to do this. His dad has a rev a 17" also, and doesn't need to do this.

...I guess just do it as a precaution until you get a feel for your particular machine and whetheer or not it is required.

You don't have to... but it'll be better if you do. I use it, because I want to protect my screen from getting marks from the keyboard itself.

I wouldn't worry about it if you close the lid and leave it sitting on a desk. If you put the machine in a bag where it might get pressure from other items then the keys might be pressed into the screen.

Whenever I travel I plan to use a keyboard cover just for safety.
