Powerbook Insomnia.

I'm now running on 10.4.2. Not sure if this affects it or not. When I close my Powerbook, it acts like it's going to sleep. The white light fades in, fades back out a little..and a little more....and goes out concurrently with the sound of the hard drive spinning or something. And then no light for a few seconds.. then it repeats. I'm pretty sure that this means it's not sleeping..because I heard the sound of my IChat signing back online with the lid closed!!!
I even tried selecting sleep from the menu, but as soon as I closed the lid, it started doing the same thing again.

Suggestions?

Something is keeping it awake. Do you have any USB devices attached? If so, disconnect them and try again.
