i was just wondering which ipod users here call their own? i realize the 5th gen ipod and nano will probably be the most popular, but i hunch the number of 3rd and 4th gen owners will be surprising.

I bought the first iPod within the month it came out. I miss the moving wheel sometimes (because I could use it with gloves on) But I took it out not too long ago and I'm blown away at the size of the thing. It's likea Brick compared to my 4G...

i have a nano, a photo and a mini. im finding that im using my mini the most out of the other ipods. the nano i feel will break to easily and the size of the photo isnt exactly too carryable for me. the mini though, i feel like it can take a beating and keep on ticking, and the size factor is perfect

I've been very happy with my mini. I got it right after they released the 2g mini since I was waiting for the 6gb which is perfect for my needs. I bought my dad a 4G ipod for his birthday the day they were released and he has been happy with it as well.

5G
4G B&W
3G
Shuffle

I usually lug around the 5G, and use the 3G and shuffle for disk space. 4G died a while back

The shuffle is so handy that I barely use the large one any more.

iPod nano (4GB, Black)
5G iPod (30GB, Black)
1G iPod mini (4GB, Silver)

I use my iPod nano daily, together with my Westone UM2's, when I travel to/from work. The 5G iPod when I want to watch a movie or something. The iPod mini only collect dust.

The second generation iPods replaced the scroll wheel (movable) from the 1st generation with the touch wheel. There were Mac and Windows version made too.
History of the iPod Scroll down a bit and the iPod generations are explained

I currently own a 30GB iPod photo and a 1GB Shuffle.

I have owned an original 5GB iPod, 3G 20GB, an a mini.

I hate the Shuffle so far so it really doesn't get much use. I might move up to a 1GB Nano soon for when I run.

My favorite is the 3G which my better half still uses everyday.

I've got a 2G mini, silver, 6GB. It's the perfect size and it feels much tougher than other iPods. I bought my fiancee a Shuffle a while ago and she digs it. I'm thinking of getting one myself now that the 512MB is so cheap, just for carrying around and as a spare flash drive.

pink iPod mini

Got it from the Easter bunny last year (Mom) and it has my name engraved on the back (First and Last, with middle initials) and then above it "Gotta go for a DRIVE"... again, it was her idea.

I got my iBook G4 the same day.
I use the mini in my car, it only has radio... it's great.

Parents got me the Apple/HP version of the 4G iPod... I think all HP iPods sucked... atleast mine does.

Got my girlfriend a mini and she loves it... like people said - it takes a beating and still plays!

I'm waiting for the new generation - then i'll probably retire my HP iPod with a "true" video iPod maybe!!!!

-i'd like to add that over the summer I ran my iPod over with a ride on lawn mower while working, still plays - but it freezes up allll the time... so I guess I can't bash the HP iPods to much...

Shuffle!

I'm cheap, listen to my iTunes library on random 90% of the time anyway, and I don't feel a need to take my entire library with me.

I have a 1st Gen 5GB, a 40GB Photo and a black 30GB Video. I use the Photo the most because it is in my car, but I like the Video the best.
