g4 500 dp power button issue

hello
my g4 is acting up
i can push the power button it will light up but go dim as soon as i let go
i was able to unplug the mac from the wall 110v and then it would start
but now it wont start at all
is it the power button ??

Use a DC voltmeter to check the motherboard battery voltage. It should be above 3 volts. If it registers low, replace it. If it reads OK, then you probably have a weak power supply.
