My beloved new iMac 700 MHz computer and my beautiful 10GB iPod unfortunately have to go. There is nothing wrong with these systems; money issues are forcing my hand in the matter.

The iMac has 512 MB of RAM installed into the base, which means that the user slot is free for your desired upgrade! I currently also have OS 10.1.5 installed as well as the latest iPhoto and iTunes software. The physical condition of this system is perfect and the LCD screen has NO DEAD PIXELS!

I also have to sell my 10 GB iPod. It is in great shape and only has very minor wear from normal usage. Both the front and back are shiny and contain no deep scratches or cracks (only has one minor surface scratch which I had planned on polishing out, but I can do this for you if you'd like).

I am planning on putting these on Ebay, but I want to see if I can get some fair offers from Macnn first. If I don't get anything by Friday then I will throw it up on Ebay. I am going to charge a firm $75.00 for UPS shipping on the iMac; so keep that in mind if you send an offer.

Thanks,
[email protected] (send offers to my email please)

Good luck on selling your items. I'm sorry that finances have forced you into doing it. Maybe you'll be back soon

Anyway, my only comment is that $75 for shipping is outrageous! I hope that for this amount you would be shipping via FedEx overnight express so that it would be in the purchaser's hands by 10AM the next day! When I bought my dual 800 and lcd from Apple last year, I paid the extra money ($85) for overnight shipping. And I know for a fact it didn't cost Apple $85 to ship...

Anyway, consider that the higher your shipping cost, the lower the offers on your machine will be. Just FWIW...
Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?

In any case, I probably was a little hasty on the 'standing firm' shipping deal. That's something that I'd have to look into if I come across someone that's interested.

Just FYI, I too am selling my iMac on ebay. I've gotten lots of inquiries but no bids and i am selling my 800 mhz iMac for $1500. I don't think I'm pricing it too high, in fact i think it's a very fair price, but so far the market thinks different. Good luck.

(This is also my first time selling on ebay so I may not be using it as effectively as some of the other sellers.)

$1500 for a used machine from Ebay. Or $1550 including an additional 512meg of ram, 1 yr warranty, qualifies for the $20.00 upgrade to OS X.2 and you are buying from a quality dealer (smalldog). I think you need a quick dose of reality.

I sell on Ebay and usually get a better price then on these boards, but I still give these boards a chance first. I belive the readers are very knowledgeable about the value of used Macs. I also think we are a bunch of bottom feeders

Most people here will not pay as much for a machine as the people on eBay. That's just the way we work. But, this is a community as opposed to the eBay flea market <img border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" title="" src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" /> There are pros and cons to each selling environment. It's up to you to pick which route you want to go. Good luck!

Funny thing but I just sold my iMac, not on eBay, but to a neighbor. I forgot to mention that I also included Office X (yes an actual legit CD) in the price of $1500.
