hi all....yes im a noob, who having trouble opening applications ive downloaded. the downloads go on to my desktop as blank sheets and when i try to open them it says that they are not scriptable and script editor cannot open files in script editor document format.

What file extension? You most likely need stuffit expander, which makes this an Applications question.

Yeah, if they are SIT or SITX files, you can open them with Stuffit Expander.

Not really understnding the question but you could try holding down option when you click the download link that might help. I might be completly wrong with what you are asking.
With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)

thx all .....
ive managed to download and open a dmg....but its the .exe that i still cant open.
do i need a program like stuffitt expander to open files with the extension .exe?

.exe are Windoze files and cannot open in Mac OS.

Sometimes, a .exe is a self-expanding archive which can be expanded with a program like ZipIt or StuffIt, depending on what core format the archive is in.

But the fact is, 99.999999% of .exe files out there are either Windows applications, or archives of Windows apps, neither of which will run on the Mac. You need to download Mac applications to run on your Mac.
