So, I was at the doctor, and she says "you have some post-nasal drip, have you tried natty pot?"
Even though I'm pretty jaded, it still took me a few moments to absorb the implication of my doctor prescribing me pot for post-nasal drip. I could only reach one conclusion...
I have the best doctor ever.
She continues, "yeah, you can get it at Walgreens. It's basically salt water you shoot up your nose."
Apparently she said "have you tried a neti pot":

It's actually, from all I've heard from people who do it regularly, *extremely* refreshing, once you get over the initial "eww" bit (takes all of 30 seconds to do so, and it's rather less disgusting than, say, a used Kleenex in your pocket when you have a cold).
I've done that once or twice when I had a cold, and it helps.

I use one now and then, and my Neti Pot is very useful. Around here, it's not a matter of "occasionally there is stuff in the air," but rather "what is different in the air." So when the wind shifts, the irritants and allergens change and even though I'm not allergic to anything, I have problems. That means it's a good idea to clean out the gunk. Yeah, it's kind of weird and a little gross, but it works well.

I was skeptical at first but I got proven wrong a few years ago. Before I used this, I had sinusitis galore every spring and every fall. Since using this ( a NeilMed Sinus Rinse in my case) it completely stopped. No more sinusitis. The minute I start to feel a little stuffy, all it takes is little rinse a few days in a row and I'm good as new.
By the way, it's not that bad. it takes less than a minute, it doesn't hurt and it really works.

I use something similar daily. I don't use the pot, but CVS sells a system called NeilMed, which uses a squeeze bottle. One fills it with the right amount of water and pre-measured packets, and it works quite well. I've been doing it for over a year, and I have far fewer sinus problems than I used to, although I still get an occasional cold, due to constantly shaking people's hands.

The NeilMed squeeze bottle is exactly what I use. I don't use it daily but a few times a week.

I use the NeilMed pot. It's inexpensive and easy to use.

lol "Natty" pot. At first I couldn't remember what it was called either.
Been using a Neti pot for years.
It seems to keep things clean, I can breathe better and rarely get sick anymore.
