Hello. I have 2 Macintoshes. A G3 Powerbook Wallstreet and a Beige G3.

They both have got a brand new system installed, OS 9 upgraded to OS 9.1, OS 9.2.1 and finally OS 9.2.2

I want to connect the two computers and have bought a "Crosswired Ethernet Cable".

I also have a 56k modem in the Powerbook that I use to connect to the internet.

In AppleTalk and TCP/IP control panel I am unsure what to do.

AppleTalk will not switch to Ethernet. When I try, it says "an error occured during the attempt to use Ethernet. Check network connections" and when I click OK, it swisthes automatically back the the setting it had (modem port or printer port).

I am also in doubt if I can use both modem and ethernet at the same time.
How shall I set up Appletalk and TCP/IP?

Thank you in advance

/a
